At Isle of Wight Farm, we made a commitment around 30 years ago to dedicated breeding to maintain the gene pool to the traits we selected as critical to the modern performance horse: temperament, trainability, movement, quality and type. Rather than breeding to the latest fashion (ie breeding the best to the best and hoping for the best), we have consistently line bred our stock to produce exceptional attributes and are now at a stage where we are using selected outcrosses to enhance and further our breeding program. |
