Verdict By Direction

Sired by the impressive Somerset D’Isle (Diarado × Balou du Rouet), Verdict By Direction was the first foal born by Somerset D’Isle and has more than lived up to his pedigree.
 

Affectionately known as “Bling”, he has enjoyed an exceptional career across multiple disciplines. As a four-year-old, Bling was crowned All-Round Young Horse Champion at Jumping and Dressage with the Stars (Esther Ballis Trophy), achieving 6th in Jumping, 3rd in Dressage, and 1st in the Conformation Class under his first owner, Bronwyn Shortt, who purchased him as a weanling.

Bling’s success continued under the saddle of Jess Stalling, carrying her to victory in the prestigious Garryowen (2023) and securing back-to-back Champion Small Hunter titles at the Sydney Royal Show in 2023 and 2024.

 

Bling is now owned by Mel Gillies and to crown his outstanding achievements, Bling was named Champion of Champions at the Show Horse Council 2025.
